Complement your anti wrinkle treatment in our modern Brisbane dental practice
If you’ve noticed a loss in volume in your lips as the years pass by, or deep lines are forming under your nose when you smile, then dermal filler treatment from Wickham Terrace Dental Brisbane could be the answer.
Dermal filler injections can refresh your appearance by smoothing out the deep lines and grooves caused by the slow deterioration of soft tissue as you get older. It can also augment certain facial features and add moisture and volume back to areas of skin you want people to notice.
Dr Nicholas Yee can now provide dermal filler treatment as the perfect complement to our other anti aging treatments such as cosmetic injectables, from the comfort of our Brisbane dental practice.
How dermal fillers work
As part of the normal aging process, your skin will produce less hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that helps skin retain moisture. The result is dryer skin that’s not as ‘plump’, firm, or youthful looking as it once was.
Dermal fillers can help. By restoring hyaluronic acid to your skin, lip fillers smooth out lines and depressions and add volume to give you a more youthful appearance.
Unlike anti wrinkle treatments, which work by relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles, dermal fillers literally fill in wrinkles by plumping up your skin. Because of these differing approaches, you may wish to combine your dermal filler injections with anti wrinkle treatment for a greater effect on your appearance.
What areas can we treat with dermal filler injections?
Dermal fillers are ideal for enhancing your lips and for smoothing and filling lines on your upper or lower lip. The deeper wrinkles and folds in your cheek areas and at the corners of your mouth can also benefit from treatment with dermal fillers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is dermal filler treatment safe?
Recent studies show that dermal filler injections are very safe when administered by an expert in facial physiology such as Dr Nicholas Yee. Minor side effects such as bruising, lumpiness or skin discoloration can occur, but these are very uncommon.
As with any medical procedure, there is also a very small risk of infection, but this is minimised when you have lip fillers treatment in the extremely hygienic conditions of Wickham Terrace Dental’s modern Brisbane dental practice.
Is dermal filler treatment painful?
Most of our patients find that any discomfort from dermal filler injections is minimal. You may have some minor swelling and tenderness around the area for a few days. Before your dermal filler injections, Dr Yee will administer local anaesthetic to the treatment area to ensure your procedure is a comfortable one.
How do I recover from dermal filler injections?
For most patients, there is no recovery time needed after dermal filler treatment, allowing you to return to work or other activities straight away. If you do experience redness or minor swelling, we may recommend icing the treated area for about 20 minutes in our Brisbane practice. You should also avoid touching the area for about 24 hours. Dr Yee and the Wickham Terrace Dental team will advise you on the correct recovery for your situation.
How long does lip fillers treatment last?
You will see results from your dermal filler injections immediately. The effects will gradually dissipate depending on your daily activities and lifestyle, after which your folds and wrinkles will reappear. However, it is quite common with repeated use to see a much longer-lasting effect with lip fillers, leading to less frequent treatments as time goes by.
Of course, you are always welcome to visit Wickham Terrace Dental again for further treatment or maintenance.
