Bernadette
Practice Manager

Fun Fact
Many might not know—before dentistry, Bernadette was one of the first female Manual Arts teachers to graduate in Queensland. With her unique blend of leadership, warmth, and problem-solving skills, she is truly the MVP of both WTD and WDC!
With 13 years of experience in the dental field, Bernadette is the driving force behind both Wickham Terrace Dental and Wickham Dental Carseldine. As Practice Manager, she expertly balances operational and financial management, team leadership, and patient experience to ensure both practices run smoothly and continue to grow.
Bernadette’s background is as impressive as her leadership style. She holds a Master of Education in Adult Learning and a Diploma in Military Leadership, having graduated from the Royal Military College Duntroon. She served as a Captain in the Royal Australian Engineer Corps, deploying to East Timor as part of Australia’s Peace Enforcement mission. Her military experience has shaped her strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills, which she now applies to the dental world.
Bernadette is deeply passionate about creating a positive experience for patients. She loves seeing patients transform from feeling anxious about their visit to smiling with confidence. She believes in treating every patient like family, ensuring that even the smallest details—like a warmly lit candle or a cheerful greeting—contribute to a welcoming environment. She also leads by example, never asking her team to do something she wouldn’t do herself, fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, and genuine care.
Her expertise lies in seeing the bigger picture, problem-solving, and organization—skills that make her an invaluable leader. When it comes to technology, however, she jokingly admits that she’s grateful to have a clever Mandy in her life!
Outside of work, Bernadette loves trail riding with her horses, Samson and Sally, and spending time with her Cavoodles, Charlie and Jasper. She enjoys traveling the world with Andrew, living by a work-hard, play-hard philosophy that fuels their adventures across different countries and cultures. She also finds joy in audiobooks, podcasts (especially The Diary of a CEO), and the occasional well-earned massage.
