Helping your child achieve the best oral health

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule

At Wickham Terrace Dental, we believe that helping your child make a good start on their oral health is one of the most important things you can do as a parent. That’s why we recommend you see us for your child’s first dental appointment once their first tooth has erupted, and of course every six months afterwards so we can monitor the development of their teeth.

To help you with the cost of this children’s dental treatment, the Federal Government has created the new Child Dental Benefits Schedule, replacing the old Medicare Teen Dental Plan.

The CDBS at a glance

Under the CDBS you may qualify to receive up to $1,000 of benefits over a two calendar year period, for each of your children aged between 2 and 17 years old.

You can use your child’s benefits from the CDBS for examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canal treatment or tooth extractions at Wickham Terrace Dental.

The CDBS is means tested, which means you must be receiving a government payment such as Family Tax Benefit Part A or another relevant Australian Government payment.

A great start to your child’s dental health

Your child’s twice-yearly checkups at Wickham Terrace Dental Brisbane are a crucial part of ensuring their entire mouth stays healthy. Our friendly team will carefully examine your child’s teeth and gums, looking for signs of tooth decay, gum disease, loose or damaged teeth, or other problems.

By detecting any issues early, we can address them before they become more difficult (and more expensive!) to treat. All our team will also be happy to help educate you and your child on the correct brushing and flossing technique to use at home.

All these vital services and more can be a part of your family’s dental treatment thanks to the Child Dental Benefits Schedule.

Take advantage of the CDBS at our Brisbane dental practice today. Make an appointment with Wickham Terrace Dental for your child on 07 3831 3031 or fill out our contact form here.
